Five elements to enter the artistic universe of Stijn Ziegler. Like a good little simmered dish, once the utensils have been chosen, you have to introduce multiple flavours and colours to attract the eye and awaken the taste buds.

“For me, a painter combines both reality and fantasy,” confides Stijn. “It’s like a cooking recipe, I confront the abstract and the figurative. I test different experiments… and I let chance decide. I like to observe unexpected rendering. It’s only after a time of reflection that I intervene on the composition. Everything ends up giving meaning to a reality that is much more abstract than it seems.”

These paintings all live a common adventure: finding movement. "The subject I use in my paintings is just a pretext to seek rhythm in my composition. The gaze of others appropriates the work."

His blue and golden waves carry you away in a whirlwind of sensations, like these architectural Briton landscapes during a storm… Everyone has their own story, their own sensitivity... everyone can dive like a fish into water in the world of Stijn Ziegler.
