Collection: Emil Kazaz

Born in January 1953 in Armenia, Emil Kazaz grew up in a creatively rich household—his father was a cobbler and his mother, a theater seamstress who introduced him to costume, staging, and theatrical spectacle, shaping his lifelong artistic vision. Educated in Armenia and trained briefly under Soviet social realist principles, Kazaz drew inspiration from Renaissance, Baroque, and Armenian religious art, as well as the works of El Greco, Velázquez, Goya, and Rivera. His multidisciplinary practice blends drawing, painting, and sculpture, often exploring universal themes of love, ambition, and morality. Kazaz’s work is marked by emotional transparency, inventive storytelling, and a deep reverence for beauty, love, and force, while remaining rooted in his Armenian heritage.
