Vazken Bedirian

  • Vasken Bedirian’s art is all about motion, speed, and the raw energy of combustion. His journey began in 1969 when he immigrated from Beirut to Los Angeles, painting on scrap wood and tiles while working at his father’s gas station. As a teenager, cruising down Sunset Blvd. in his 1970 Trans Am, surrounded by neon lights and palm-lined streets, he found the inspiration that would shape his artistic vision. He later refined his craft at Art Center College in Pasadena.

In the ‘80s and ‘90s, Vasken raced vintage and classic cars across the U.S., drawing influence from legendary automobiles like the 1961 Jaguar XKE, Lotus Sevens, Ferraris, and Alfa Romeos. After retiring from real estate, he settled in Pebble Beach—home to some of the most iconic car events in the world. As a member of elite car clubs like the Ferrari Owners Club and Jaguar Club of America, he continues to immerse himself in the world of classic cars, taking inspiration from winding coastal roads and historic racing culture.

With a deep passion for automobiles, racing, and restoration, Vasken’s art captures the thrill, chaos, and hypnotic motion of the automotive world. His work has been exhibited at Gallery Milmar Sparckie in Carmel-by-the-Sea, the Armenian Museum of Fresno, and in private collections across the country.
