  • Paylak Vanikyan is an internationally recognized Armenian contemporary artist, born on May 24, 1964, in Yerevan, Armenia. He studied at the

    Terlemezian Yerevan State College of Arts from 1980 to 1984, laying the foundation for a career that would bridge Armenian artistic traditions

    with contemporary post-Soviet expression. Vanikyan’s work is characterized by a dynamic use of color, texture, and form, reflecting both his

    Armenian heritage and his engagement with the broader international art scene. Over the decades, he has developed a distinctive style that

    combines figurative and abstract elements, exploring themes of identity, memory, and cultural continuity. Throughout his career, Vanikyan has

    exhibited widely across the globe, participating in exhibitions in Europe, the United States, the Middle East, and Russia. His paintings are

    included in numerous private collections and prestigious galleries, reflecting his status as one of the leading figures in post-Soviet contemporary

    Art. In addition to his artistic achievements, Vanikyan has influenced emerging generations of artists through workshops, mentorship, and active

    engagement with the art community. Married with two children, he continues to live and work in Yerevan, creating works that resonate both

    locally and internationally, combining technical mastery with deep emotional and cultural insight.

    Training: Paylak Vanikyan trained at the Terlemezian Yerevan State College of Arts in Yerevan, Armenia, from 1980 to 1984.
