Lark Larisa Pilinsky

  • Lark (Larisa Pilinsky) was born in the remote mountains of Central Asia, raised in Ukraine, and educated in Russia, where her artistic

journey began. She first emerged as a notable figure through her involvement with the award-winning Bunker Art Group of

Armenia—an avant-garde collective that challenged Soviet-era restrictions on artistic freedom through bold abstraction and

experimental expression. After emigrating to the United States in 1991, Lark continued to expand her creative language, earning

recognition from prominent critics, curators, and art institutions. Her assemblages and paintings have been showcased in more than

thirty exhibitions worldwide, including at the Nickelodeon Animation Studios, the Avatar Art Gallery, the Swedish-American Museum

of Art, and the Museums of Contemporary Art in Armenia and Russia. Her works have also been honored in juried exhibitions such as

the SoHo International Art Competition and by the Foundation of Collage Artists of America. Lark’s assemblages arise from found

materials—discarded objects that she transforms through an intuitive and meditative process. Guided by spiritual reflection, she allows

images and meanings to emerge organically from her subconscious. By reimagining the forgotten histories of ordinary materials, she

invites viewers into a space of introspection and emotional resonance. Her art, deeply poetic and symbolically rich, gives new life to the

past and redefines beauty through transformation and imagination.
