Gevorg Yeghiazaryan

  • Gevorg Yeghiazaryan was born on July 21, 1963, in Gyumri, Armenia. He began his artistic training at the Panos Terlemezian Art School and

the Fine Arts Institute in Yerevan, later continuing his studies at the St. Petersburg Repin Academy of Art. He graduated from the Yerevan

School of Fine Arts in 1983 and from the Yerevan Fine Arts and Theater Institute in 1991.

In 1994, Yeghiazaryan became a member of the Union of Artists of Armenia, and in 1998 he joined the International Association of Arts

(UNESCO). In recognition of his achievements, he was awarded the “Vahan Tekeyan” prize in 2005. That same year, he founded the

experimental pottery studio “Salazard.” For decades, he has devoted himself to reviving a nearly lost branch of the Kyotahya cultural tradition.

Yeghiazaryan’s paintings are distinguished by delicate, rhythmic harmonies of color, where a sense of musicality emerges through symbolic and

stylistic expression. His works reflect the fusion of his sensitive inner world with external reality, often revealing a contemplative, melancholic

spirit. They are imbued with poetic lyricism, hovering between reality and imagination, where light and color interact in contrasts of space and

form, calm and tension, transparency and opacity. Characterized by profound introspection and emotional depth, Yeghiazaryan’s art radiates

mystery, enchantment, and timelessness. Whether working in oil, ceramics, printmaking, or sculpture, he creates works that are uniquely his

own. His artistic journey has been recognized internationally through numerous solo exhibitions in Beirut, Jerusalem, Amsterdam, Boston,

Atlanta, New York, Washington, Geneva, Lyon, Chicago, and other cities worldwide.
